Hannah Soren

Biography

Hannah Soren is an active performer, educator, and artist in the Greater Boston area. She has performed in various chamber ensembles and full orchestras as well as performed multiple solo cello recitals. It was here in Boston where she discovered a passion for creating new works, improvising, and performing contemporary classical music. 

Hannah graduated with a Master’s of Music (‘19) as well as a Professional Studies Certificate (‘20) in Cello Performance from Boston Conservatory at Berklee and received her Bachelor’s of Music (‘16) from the University of Louisville. She has premiered countless compositions by students and alumni from both the conservatory as well as the university and took part in the Interdisciplinary Arts Institute at Berklee College of Music with a focus on multimedia. 

She is currently teaching privately and is on the faculty at Brookline Adult and Community Education, Portsmouth Music and Arts Center, and Maestro Musicians. During past summers, she has been awarded fellowships at the Texas Music Festival (‘19), Atlantic Music Festival (‘18), and National Music Festival (‘18).  Her most recent in-person performances include joining Dinosaur Annex in their Hub of the Musi-verse series, as well as performing at the Harvard Chamber Music Festival.

At Boston Conservatory, Hannah studied with Andrew Mark of the Portland String Quartet and is currently studying/exploring composition with composer Clifton Ingram.
